Back in Episode #19 of the AG Podcast, we discussed the announcement from Disney that Marvel Studios’ Thor was coming to Disneyland as a meet & greet character. We pondered where in the park he might show up- and today, we know for sure.
Disney Parks Blog announced that Tomorrowland’s Innoventions will house a display of Asgard’s finest treasures, surely to be props from the Thor films, and possibly from Avengers. Also part of the exhibit will be an interactive trip across the “Rainbow Bridge of Bifrost” to Asgard to meet the God of Thunder himself!
This exhibit will most likely replace the “Iron Man Tech” displays and interactive VR armor suit up, confirming our guess that Disney will be using this space to advertise the next Marvel Studios film. After “Treasures of Asgard”, we can probably count on “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” moving in next summer.
We still think that expanding the whole upper floor to house a Stark Expo/Avengers Tower melange year round would be a fantastic use of the space, pehaps moving the existing exhibits downstairs, replacing the lackluster Microsoft Home of the Future.
We’ll be checking this display out in November, and will have a review for Associated Geekery. Stay tuned!
