“Steve Martin Got Paid In Picassos”

Hello and welcome to the latest Associated Geekery Podcast!

It’s Episode #33- the one where Doc and Ryan talk about DC’s reaction to fans pointing out their lack of diversity in their superhero roster (pro-tip, it’s your fault). Then, discussion turns to a specifically bad Cartoon Network comic book cover starring CN’s Powerpuff Girls.

In convention news, Convene magazine’s online issue covers what convention managers and staff can do about harassment policies and enforcement. Something our friend Molly McIsaac has recently spoken on.

Also on the subject of harassment, the guys review the latest example of why some people shouldn’t drink and interview female game designers- or anyone.

In books, discussion turns to the nominees for the next Arthur C. Clarke Awards- who are, to very little surprise, all members of the White Men’s association of White Men.

Finally, subjects turn to movies and similar entertainment news- the weird and not-so-good second trailer for Disney’s Maleficent (which, as of this posting, has been shown up by a third trailer), Netflix’s not-so-subtle jab to internet providers in the Net Neutrality debate, and finally, Universal Orlando’s Harry Potter expansion is fully previewed in a massive weekend press bash. Much thanks to Ricky at Inside the Magic for the scoop!

Ending this episode are our new Recommendations! We talk Welcome to Nightvale Live and the blu-ray edition of Red Dwarf X.
