Last week we got a sneak peek at the costume for The Flash from CW’s upcoming pilot about DC’s Fastest Man Alive. Today, we get a full photo of actor Grant Gustin in full costume, designed by Colleen Atwood.

It’s a different take on the comic book’s typically red and yellow outfit- gold accents on a darker scarlet. While definitely reminiscent of the first TV Flash costume (played by John Wesley Shipp), it is slimmer and doesn’t have the molded muscles of its forerunner.

The mask/helmet profile from last week gave us a look at the earpiece “wings”- in this case they’re keeping the lightning bolt motif there instead of the classic Mercury wings.
There is some gold piping and the lightning bolts on the forearms have been updated to just gold cuffs, while the boots remain a solid gold color.
All in all, this costume works well in a still image. We’ll see how it holds up in action when The Flash premieres this fall on CW.
